If you've been watching my YouTube channel, you'll know I've been pretty lucky enough to have a few trips this year, drake reference my be appropriate! From a day trip to Amsterdam to a few days by the pool in Mallorca...

Hotel Astoria Playa is an adults only resort located on the Spanish Island, Mallorca. I flew out from London Stansted with Ryanair (honestly, they aren't as bad as they used to be!) I'm always pinching myself when I travel to Spain and thinking 'seriously, how is all this so close to the UK?!'. After a brief flight, I was quickly reminded how amazing it feels to have the sun on my skin!

The hotel arranged a direct transfer from the Airport to Hotel, I was greeted at Mallorca Airpot by the driver with a card very official - I know. As the hotel is located on the opposite side of the Island to the airport, this was a much welcomed feature; as I know, personally I would look at booking a hotel closer to the airport to avoid a €75 taxi ride. Thankfully, Hotel Astoria Playa offers free transfers to and from the airport - or there are tons of car rentals, if you fancy cruising around the Island of Mallorca.

My stay at Hotel Astoria Playa was my first at an "adults only", and it will not be my last. I did turn 21 in October, so I guess I'm adulting now?! In all seriousness, in my post-dissertation-frantic state, Hotel Astoria Playa was the perfect getaway location. The hotel is idyllically peaceful, but still with such a warm welcoming atmosphere; although I went alone - and yes there were lots of couples, I didn't feel like a loser/third wheel.

As my stay was half board, I ate both breakfast and dinner within the hotel restaurant.  Personally, I'm always quite weary of hotel food and always expect the worst, so I packed a few snacks in my case along with digestion tablets (tmi). I was completely blown away by not only the range of food on offer at Hotel Astoria Playa, but the quality. The food was of an exceptional restaurant standard, which was consistent throughout my stay. Through investigation, I discovered that Hotel Astoria Playa had acquired a Michelin star chef from the Spanish mainland to work the kitchen; so obvious. I loved how all the food was displayed, I'm not a snob (I promise) but I'm not a buffet girl, but the way in which they displayed the food and frequently changed for freshly cooked - I was running to and from!

For breakfast I tried to stay away from the delicious range of fresh pastries, and opted for eggs, sausages, mushrooms and bacon, accompanied by and espresso (of course) and lemon with hot water. I wasn't able to resist the watermelon and crepes... The dinner menu changed each day, but Hotel Astoria Playa pride themselves on offering a range of food suitable for all dietary requirements; from lactose free, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. However, I did enjoy the grill which was a there every night, so I was able to have a steak, salmon and cuttlefish cooked before my eyes!

I know you're thinking, talk about your room! OK, here's the low down. If you follow me on snapchat, you'll of already seen the ridiculously photographic room I stayed in at Hotel Astoria Playa. My room was a Double Room with a Pool View, draped in white and grey. Yes, the bed was as comfortable as it looked; it made me realise how much I need to change my mattress at home, and made it extremely difficult to get up for breakfast! The en-suite followed the white Instagramable theme,  having a generously sized shower with a rainforest shower head and generously sized basin, with tons of light and mirrors!

Hotel Astoria Playa hosts two large pools, with tons of sun loungers to soak up the rays - and shaded loungers, for those seeking shade. Both of the pools also had jacuzzi areas, perfect to chill out and enjoy a glass or two of bubbles. Although it was way over 25 degrees, the pools were just too cold for me! I'm not sure if they are warmer as Mallorca heats up, but I couldn't fully submerge myself - you'll see this in my travel vlog! So, it was more of a quick dip to cool down, rather than getting a few lengths in.

Each evening there was entertainment in the Bar, from the likes of Lady Gaga to a Motown Tribute. However if that's not your scene, the rooms have smart Samsung TV's which I took full advantage of and enjoyed binge watching Netflix while revising for my finals! With the beach within 5 mins walking distance, you could always take a stroll down and enjoy the sunset!

I would recommend Hotel Astoria Playa to couples and those looking for a quiet getaway. The facilities on site and impeccable and the standard of food was exceptional, which made my stay memorable. The location should not put you off, the local area is full of restaurants and bars, and of course the beach! And with transfers to and from the airport included, all you need to do is fly!

A special thank you to the team at Hotel Astoria Playa for looking after me and BloggingGals for the amazing opportunity! My stay at Hotel Astoria Playa was complimentary, and I paid for my flights; but as always it is my honest opinion in this post, I was not paid to say any of the above. I got'chu!
