Review: Gyms Kitchen
I was fed up of seeing delicious tweets of food from Gyms Kitchen, so I decided it was about time I went and sampled it for myself.
First impressions - average. The front of the restaurant is simple but classy, nice dark colour scheme - very masculine. The restaurant area appeared to be one small room with the fresh salad counter and kitchen alongside.
However, I was pleasantly surprised when I realised that there was another dining room alongside.
The staff are polite, attentive and knowledgable regarding health, fitness and clean eating which really was refreshing!
The menu caters well to all, with treats suiting all ranging from: gluten free, paleo and yes - even children!
I decided to order the poached eggs (to see if there chef could cook them as well as myself - poached egg queen) with smocked salmon and garlic spinach.
While I waited, I was delighted when the waitress approached the table carrying carrots and celery sticks with humous. I thought this was a really nice touch, rather than the devilishly delicious French bread I usually find myself devouring and regretting immediately. There was zero guilt with this appetisers.
My food soon followed, considering the restaurant was quite busy, the wait was minimum. I was impressed with the presentation of the food and yes, the poached egg was very good (brava).
It didn't take me very long to clean my plate and order some halloumi to go.Overall, Gym's Kitchen is fresh, health conscious and value for money. I would recommend it for an after run/work out lunch with your training partners. There really is something for everyone, and any menu which has "#eatcleantraindirty" instantly gets brownie points from me!
