2 Years of Blogging: Lessons
Happy 2nd Birthday to us!
I can't believe 2 years ago today, I was sat in my University halls bedroom with my best friend [A, I love you] and decided to start a blog. I didn't even know what a blog was, I didn't know this world of blogs, YouTube and sharing even existed! Honestly, I had no clue who Essie Button or Patricia Bright were; who the heck was I?! But now, I can't imagine my life without this whole inter-sphere!
If you've read Mission Worldie from the start (I salute you) you'll probably know I started the blog as a fitness blog. I'd moved to London around 6 months prior to blogging, and fell in love with the amazing, wacky and damn right challenging workouts London had to offer. For someone new to London, attending group fitness classes like Barry's Bootcamp and Psycle offered me a healthy way to meet people from all walks of life, and widen my friendship groups! I can't thank the amazing girls and guys I've met through blogging enough, I've got such amazing memories and friendships to last a lifetime.
Fast forwards 2 years, I'm blogging less fitness stuff - but that's okay, I've grown a lot. Sometime, I'd rather spend that £20 on a foundation than sweating at Barry's; shoot me. My passions for fitness remains, but I love sharing so much more than fitness reviews with you all. I can't believe how many cool opportunities I've had through blogging this year, I mean I went to Amsterdam for like 4 hours?! So bloody cool. I've also been able to work with some amazing brands, you guys know I'm a self confessed product junkie, and I'm lucky enough to be able to have a platform to share my thoughts on them here! I love writing the beauty-lifestyle stuff, and can't wait to share more.
I feel like a lot of you guys reading this may have found me on YouTube. In the past 6 months I've fallen in love with YouTube, and being the visual person I am; it has allowed me to let my creative juices flow and learn (well, I'm still learning a lot) a whole new skill set. Filming my weekly vlogs have allowed me to connect with you guys on a whole new level! I like to call YouTube - #reallifeshit , you see everything. You see me when I'm happy, you see me when I'm sad (sorry if I've cried a little too much) and everything between. The world of blogging and Instagram is a what I like to call a showreel. You get to see the best bits, especially on Instagram... I don't know about you, but I'd rather see a lush cocktail than a picture of me crying on my bed?! It's the whole emotional attachment with film, I love it and promise I'll continue to film and blog.
So, year 3 what's good?! Well, I'll be moving across the pond in August, so I'll be blogging stateside. We'll see how it goes, who know's it could be a long term move! I'm at a crossroad in life, finishing University and just taking advantage of every opportunity that swings my way! I want to write about so many different things, the blog might undergo a makeover - who knows?! But, I can't wait to share with you guys along the way.
Thank you for every like, comment, share, subscribe, email, tweet and snapchat; I can't tell you how crazy it is that I randomly post stuff on the internet and you guys read, watch and get me! It's like catching up with old friends with every post.
Peace, love and all that jazz. Dani x
